The first race weekend of the Formula 2 season ended today at the Bahrain circuit. Not an easy weekend at all, because it was all about tyre management. Qualifying   The qualifying started at 14:50 (CET) with the supersoft as the main tyre during this session. Jordan King was 15th with a lap time of 1:42.621 on his first set of tyres. Mahaveer Raghunathan set the 19th best time in his first run. Yellow flags were most of the time out during this run after Callum Ilott crashed. The Formula Renault team of MP Motorsport just left Paul Ricard. Soon after that, the Formula 3 team arrived for two days of testing. Liam Lawson, Simo Laaksonen and Richard Verschoor tested both days with the new Formula 3 cars. The Formula 3 field contains 30 cars. That amount of cars will promise for some great racing this year, but it caused as well for some frustration during the test. The amount of traffic that disturbed the qualifying simulation was a common complained, but an opportunity to learn to deal with it. The Formula Renault team just finished their first official test and have still six test days to go, but for the Formula 2 team, it was already their last test of this season. Jordan King was testing car number 16 for the first two days while Richard Verschoor took his seat over during the last day. Mahaveer Raghunathan tested the car with the number 17. Jordan King his fastest lap time (1:28.299) was during the second test day during the morning session. Mahaveer set his best lap time during the same morning session. The curtain falls on the 2018 season of the Formula 2 and GP3 Series Championships, followed by Draco Marketing on track with the Trident team. In Abu Dhabi, in the Yas Marina circuit, the Trident team went on track for the two GP3 races with David Beckmann who immediately registered a 2nd place in the free practice, winning the 3rd row in qualifying and the 2nd step of the podium in Race 1. This weekend ends the 2018 edition of the Italian Offshore Championship at the beautiful location of Lake Como on the occasion of the 69th edition of the "100 miles of the Lario-Villa D'Este Trophy". The categories in the race will be the Italian Offshore Championship 5000 and the Endurance Boat Racing Championship. The offshore show will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October at the Villa Olmo-Villa Geno walks in Como.
