Qualifying The weather stayed dry after a little bit of rain in the morning. All the cars went straight out on track when the lights went on green. Richard Verschoor was 12th fastest after his first push lap, Liam Lawson was 18th and Simo Laaksonen 24th. Liam and Simo went straight back in the pitlane for a new set of tyres after their first push lap. Richard continued with a cool down lap and went for a second push lap on his first set of tyres. Qualifying The softest compound that Formula 3 got this weekend was the soft tyres with the red colour. Liam Lawson was 16th fastest when he completed his first push lap, Richard Verschoor 21st and Simo Laaksonen was 20th fastest. After their cooldown lap to let the tyres recover and to avoid traffic they went again back up to speed for improving their lap time. Simo Laaksonen did much better this time he was 7th fastest, Verschoor 13th and Lawson 15th. The quickest lap time during the first run was for Armstrong with a time of 1:19.866. The second run on a new set of tyres got disturbed by a red flag caused by Logan Sargeant after he got launched off...

Spielberg was the 6th Formula 2 event. Jordan King and Patricio O’ward were behind the steering wheel this weekend. It was the first time for Patricio O’ward in a Formula 2 car and the circuit Red Bull Ring was new for him as well. A big challenge, but a great one to learn from it. Qualifying Team’s had to deal with the super soft compound tyres during the qualifying. The air temperature was still 30 degrees when the qualifying started at 16:55, and for Patricio O’ward it was going to be his second outing ever in the Formula 2 car.
