Spa Francorchamps

Right before the summer break, the MP Formula 2 team travelled to Spa-Francorchamps, for the tenth round of the season. Friday started wet but the conditions changed over the day, however on Saturday, most sessions were declared wet. On Sunday the sun was shining but parts of the track dried very slowly. PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING Although it wasn’t raining during the Practice session on Friday, the track was still partly wet. Dennis and Franco were out early on track to make as many laps as possible, while moist drivers stayed in the pitlane. After an eventful end to the triple-header in Silverstone, where Franco had a double top-five finish and Dennis scored points in both races, the F2 team travelled to the Hungaroring in Budapest for the Hungarian GP. It is a track with some memorable moments made in the past, and eager to make more! The final race of the 2024 F2 triple-header took the team to a rainy Silverstone, playground for the British Grand Prix. After a weekend with highs and lows in Spielberg, scoring a team total of 25 points, we were looking forward to our growth for the second half of the season. PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING During Practice, Dennis and Franco tried to find their flow on the UK track. The results reflected this, with a P13 and P20 finish consecutively. The MP F2 team travelled to Spielberg for the second race of the triple-header this 2024 Formula 2 season. It was time for the Austrian GP, driven on the Red Bull Ring, known for its few corners and high speeds. PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING Franco Colapinto showed some great pace early in the weekend during the Free Practice on Friday, setting the third-fastest time of the grid. He must have thought “Well I can do that again”, which he did during qualifying. A P3 meant his best qualifying result as of yet in Formula 2! Last weekend it was time for one of the most glamorous and prestigious grand prix of the calendar, the Monaco GP. Widely considered to be one of the most important races, the MP F2 team prepared to give it all they had. The race weekend started on Thursday with practice, where Drivers  managed to set a place inside the top ten. Dennis his pace was promising after setting the second-fastest time of the grid. Last weekend the MP F2 team travelled to the northern parts of Italy for the Imola GP. On the iconic race track our drivers set the sixth and ninth fastest times during the Practice Session on Friday, which felt like a good omen for the rest of the weekend. An excellent Race 1 for the MP Motorsport team which went on the podium with Dennis Hauger in third place in race 1 and Franco Colapinto in 5th position. In Race 2 Hauger, in the top positions, ended up against the barriers on the exit lap after the pit stop and was forced to retire. Colapinto did well in 7th place.
